Upon entering this class, I felt that I was decently prepared. Though I was never top of my class in highschool, I could write a good essay and get my message across. But those essays were only directed towards the teacher; I would never let anyone else read my writing. My audience never had to be anyone but the teacher. During the time in this course so far, I feel much more comfortable with peer-reviewing and receiving feedback. It is always helpful to gain another persons perspective and thoughts on a topic even if I do not agree with them. I am also getting much better at critical reading and doing an analysis rather than just writing a summary about a book or my favorite, its theme, which we did about 99% of the time in highschool. Another process that I feel is changing my approach towards writing a paper is the invention process. Answering the invention questions gets my brain thinking about the topic more in depth and in a way, writes a draft for me. It also guides me into organizing my paper in an understandable way. Other concepts I have been developing mostly deal with rhetoric and persuasion including ethos, pathos and logos. In my next paper (project 3) I am going to write to specific audiences , not just a general audience. For upcoming projects I would find it interesting to write about a social or environmental problem.
