Entering this class, I felt pretty well prepared. I did fairly well in my high school AP Lit class (an ‘A’ is okay, right?) and have a great attraction to creative writing, which helped me increase my writing skills. Besides this English class, my first collegiate level writing assignments were (and still are) in my Anthropology class which requires a three to five page analysis on a certain anthropological subject each week. I feel the writing skills I had are being exercised appropriately and I’m happy with the skills I have been gaining. A few writing skills that I view as completely invaluable are organization, arrangement, and prewriting. Without those skills, I would not be able to produce anything better than an incoherent rambling of silently-cacophonous discombobulation. I would like to better my research and reading skills. As for writing about a specific subject, I would enjoy engaging in the topic of climate change, health care, and almost any other humanitarian-like subject. If I were able to write to anyone, I would write to the ordinary everyday person. I believe people are mostly good and, if given the right persuasion and opportunity, would help their fellow man.
