Coming into this class, I feel like I wasn't really prepared. I had little experience with writing other than taking english classes in high school. Those classes didn't seem as a challenge and weren't as helpful to me. I didn't know any good strategies that I could use in my writing to improve it. I felt like I was a good reader but once we had to analyze the writing I struggled a little because I didn't have a lot of experience on analyzing a piece of writing. After project 1, I learned a few great rhetorical strategies, like exigence and enthymemes, that I can use to enhance my writing and make it more appealing to the reader. I also learned how to structure my main argument and ways to support it with logos, pathos, and ethos. The most important thing I learned from doing project 1 is on how to write an analysis rather than just a review and how to be more of an active reader. I still have a little trouble with creating exigence and using a variety of rhetorical strategies but I hope to get better as I progress through the class.
