Slow food fo real!

Page history last edited by mike 9 years, 2 months ago

Definition

Slow Food is the ideological movement that stresses the concept of micro-entrepreneurship through the support of local businesses, farmers, and the pursuit of sustainability by way of cutting down on transport and ecological costs.

Evaluation:

In 2002, the Bocconi University of Economics and Business in Milan, Italy conducted a study highlighting the outcomes of the Slow Food Presidia projects in Italy. The study demonstrated the remarkable measurable economic impact of the projects while also showcasing the unique nature of the Presidia model. The study showed how a Slow Food Presidium acts as a cultural matrix, bringing together territory and product, typicality and quality, in which the term “environment” finds its clearest expression as the “context of life in the local Community” – and new recognition in the local market.

Why go with slow food!

Slow Food, the idea of good means enjoying delicious food created with care from healthy plants and animals. The pleasures of good food can also help to build community and celebrate culture and regional diversity.

Slow food is clean food!

When we talk about clean food, we are talking about nutritious food that is as good for the planet as it is for our bodies. It is grown and harvested with methods that have a positive impact on our local ecosystems and promote biodiversity.

Slow food is fair!

We believe that food is a universal right. Food that is fair should be accessible to all, regardless of income, and produced by people who are treated with dignity and justly compensated for their labor.
