Hi, my name is Anisa; I’m currently attending Wayne State University, majoring in business management.  I’m the type of person that likes to be in charge. I don’t like for people to tell me what to do. When I first started this class I had no idea what rhetoric was, Pathos, logos, ethos? No idea. Now after doing projects and using these I have a pretty good idea of what they are. So from my understanding rhetoric is when someone tells you things that are basically unimportant or irrelevant but they make them seem important and relevant in order to sway your opinion to their side of an issue, persuasion. Every day we are persuaded by friends, and or media. Some might deny it and say that they are not easily persuaded but there is no denying it, people buy some kind of weight loss product because Kim Kardashian is advertising it and claims that it helped her lose weight, or you do something because your friends are doing it. Just like Sheffield states “America is invaded by America” I mean where is the country going?  What is more important what Lindsay Lohan did last night or the downfall of our economy? I listen more about what celebrities are doing than our government. Therefore, whether we like it or not the art of rhetoric is making this world go around today. We are influenced and persuaded every day. I know I am.
